Additional symptoms that you need to be aware of
If you experience any of the following additional symptoms [3], you should call 911:
- Lightheadedness
- Slurring and other speech impediments
- Visual problems like temporary blindness or blurry vision
- Numbness and weakness in the limbs or one side of the body
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Sweating
- Sudden headache
Severe atherosclerosis symptoms require urgent medical care. Sometimes this is the difference and death. Blood vessel blockage in the brain can cause stroke that results in death or permanent disability.
