Klebsiella pneumonia is the causative agent. Pneumonia is caused by Streptococcus pneumonia, a bacterium which affects the lungs. It causes breathing problems and disrupts the exchange of gases. It occurs when you breathe in the bacteria resulting in the increased synthesis of bacteria in the lungs. Its symptoms are chest pain, night chills fever and cough with phlegm. Pneumonia can be treated with antibiotics and the pneumococcal vaccine. [4]
