Can ADHD Impact Your Memory?

Does ADHD Affect Intelligence?

People with ADHD do not have issues with their IQ. Although they have some cognitive symptoms, their level of intelligence is usually either average or above average. They prefer to learn at their own pace and mostly do not like school, because they are compelled to engage in tasks they do not find motivation for. This makes children with ADHD struggle with bad grades. It is important that you don’t mistake it for them being dull.

They often don’t have intelligence problems, but they do struggle with cognition, staying focused, concentrating, maintaining motivation to finish a task, and they also tend to resist impulses. An important part of cognitive functioning is the working memory.
