Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas and Symptoms of It

The pancreas is a big gland that lies behind the stomach and helps convert food into fuel. Adenocarcinoma of the pancreas is a type of adenocarcinoma that begins in the pancreatic ducts. Studies show that this is the hardest type of Adenocarcinoma to treat, with a five-year survival rate of about 8.5%.
In most cases, pancreatic adenocarcinomas may metastasize and spread to organs within the abdominal cavity, bones, lungs, brain, and liver.
The symptom you experience if you have been diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma depends on the site of the cancer. Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma is usually accompanied by the following symptoms:
- Pain in the upper abdomen that spreads to the back
- Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes)
- Loss of appetite
- Weight loss
- Depression [5]
- Blood clots
- Fatigue
- Diabetes [6]
