Ayurvedic Treatment for Lipoma

Ayurveda Treatment for Lipoma

Lipomas are benign, soft tumors consisting of soft or fatty tissue that are frequently painless. They are a typical skin condition that could be considered aesthetic. Little tumors like lipomas are referred to as granthis (knots) in Ayurveda. Ayurvedic advice for treatment, according to a 2016 case study [3], include:

  • herbal medications or ointments
  • excision

Even though these therapies are used in Ayurveda medicine, it’s crucial to remember that there isn’t any proof that they can treat lipomas.

The herbal medicine Triphala, is one of the treatments used in Ayurveda. It is a combination of:

  • Black myrobalan
  • Belleric myrobalan
  • Indian gooseberry [4]

In a 2012 study [5] on animals, this compound was recognized to have fat-reducing abilities and helps to lower fat and cholesterol levels. This medication and comparable substances used in Ayurvedic medicine aim to address the source of these tumors since it is thought that lipomas develop as a result of an expansion of fat cells.

It should be emphasized that lipomas are made up of a separate kind of fat cell that is unaffected by weight loss, fat reduction, or lower cholesterol levels.

Ayurveda does sometimes advise excision, or the removal of the lipoma. This is comparable to the surgical removal techniques employed in Western medicine. It’ll also help to develop certain lifestyle changes for a more effective treatment. Examples of such changes includes regular yoga practice, breathing exercises, and a well-balanced diet.
