Melanoma (Cancerous Moles): Common Symptoms to Know

Sore

Another sign of melanoma is the appearance of a sore [5] or multiple sores on the skin. This does not immediately appear when you have melanoma. The skin begins to develop ulcerations as the cancer advances.

If you notice sores on your skin that do not heal, you should bring this up with your doctor. While not all persistent skin sores are signs of melanoma, examining them can help you detect the disease early.

Melanomas are difficult cancers to treat. Although the skin is the most affected organ, melanoma may affect other organs of the body. It is important to pay attention to skin changes and report aberrations to your doctor so the cancer can be caught on time.
