Pulmonary Hypertension and Lung Cancer

Elevated blood pressure in your pulmonary arteries can be caused by various conditions. These are the blood veins that deliver oxygen-rich blood to your lungs in exchange for carbon dioxide. When hypertension increases blood flow resistance, your heart has a harder time pumping blood through blood arteries, which results in chest pain. Shortness of breath is a possible side effect of this illness.
Chest pain can occur with lung cancer [5] and cancer that has spread to the lungs from another part of the body. Around 20–40% of individuals with lung cancer experience chest pain.
Other symptoms include:
- Cough
- Fatigue
- Weakness
- Shortness of breath spitting up blood
