Can Mold in the Toilet Indicate Diabetes?

What does a black ring mean?

Green, white, and black are just a few of the many colors that mold may be.

The phrases “toxic mold” and “black mold” may have been used in the same sentence. Even though it’s true that some molds do produce toxins, a mold’s color doesn’t necessarily indicate how dangerous it is.

When individuals refer to hazardous mold, they’re often talking about Stachybotrys atra. This mold is either black or dark green in appearance. It could seem slimy or viscous.

Although, it’s unlikely that the mold in your toilet is of this kind. That’s because it usually only develops on items like ceiling tiles, paper, and wood.

Other mold species are more frequently discovered inside, and some of them can be either dark green or black in color. The following common indoor molds are listed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) [3]:

  • Aspergillus
  • Cladosporium
  • Penicillium
