Common Symptoms of Gonorrhea

Symptoms in women

Most women don’t foster any symptoms of gonorrhea. They are mostly asymptomatic. Gonorrhea symptoms can mimic other fungi or bacterial infection to regular vaginal yeast or bacterial contaminations in women. However, some of the symptom’s women can present with include:

  • Vaginal discharge

Normally, vaginal discharge is a constant fixture in women who menstruate. However, a healthy discharge should be white or appear clear and have a slight odor. Once the consistency and color change to watery, slightly green, and/or creamy, it may be a symptom of gonorrhea.

  • Heavier periods or spotting

Although, the severity and duration of periods vary in women. However, once menstrual bleeding becomes too heavy and goes on for longer periods, it may be a symptom of gonorrhea.

  • torment or consuming sensation while peeing
  • inclination to pee all the more often
  • sore throat
  • torment during sex
  • sharp and constant pain in the lower abdomen.

Gonorrhea is treatable if checked on time. Therefore, visit a doctor when you notice any of these symptoms. It is also important to remember to protect yourself during sexual activities from other sexually transmitted diseases or infections, to avoid further or new complications in the future.
