Pruritus
Pruritus is a condition characterized by an unpleasant sensation of the skin. This sensation causes the urge to scratch the skin. Usually, pruritus is caused by allergic reactions and irritation. Substances like wool, soaps, and some chemicals can cause irritation and allergies. In cases of guttate and eruptive psoriasis, pruritus may be a significant symptom. Traditionally, pruritus is managed by reduction of stress, use of creams, and daily moisturization. As a symptom of psoriasis, it’s crucial to see the doctor before starting any medications.
Afebrile (Except in Pustular or Erythrodermic Psoriasis, in Which the Patient May Have a High Fever)
Afebrile means a condition where an individual does not feel fever. Generally, psoriasis doesn’t cause any forms of fever. However, in cases of pustular or erythrodermic psoriasis, the individual may feel febrile. When a high fever is noticed, the doctor should be consulted immediately to help provide reasonable treatment.
