Erythrodermic Psoriasis – Symptoms, Causes, Treatment and More

Symptoms of Erythrodermic Psoriasis

The main symptom of erythrodermic psoriasis in people with light skin is a deep red rash all over your body. Rash can appear in other colors, such as purple or gray, in people of color.

Additional signs include:

  • Instead of tiny scales, the skin sheds in large sheets.
  • Fast heart rate
  • Body temperature fluctuations especially on hot and cold days
  • Excruciating pain and itching,

Your skin isn’t the only organ affected by erythrodermic psoriasis. It may also cause changes in body temperature and the chemical balance in your body. Your body may retain more fluid than usual and swell, especially your ankles. This type of psoriasis can lead to heart failure or pneumonia in severe circumstances.

Although this may seem scary, Erythrodermic psoriasis is treatable and can be cured.
