The psoriasis of the scalp is not communicable. Skin-to-skin contact cannot transmit scalp psoriasis to another individual.
Different scalp psoriasis symptoms exist. Mild scalp psoriasis symptoms may comprise only little, thin scales or flaking that appears like dandruff [2]. Moderate to severe scalp psoriasis symptoms include:
- Raised, discolored plaques (red, brown, gray, or purple) with a dead skin cell-covered white or silvery surface.
- Plaques covering all or most of your scalp.
- Plaques on the skin near your ears, on your forehead, back of your neck, or along your hairline.
- Dryness.
- Flaking skin.
- Itching.
- Cracks (fissures).
- Bleeding.
- Pain or irritability.
