Scalp Psoriasis: Causes, Symptoms, Treatment & More

How Is Psoriasis of the Scalp Diagnosed?

Your doctor will check the rest of your skin, including your scalp, for psoriasis symptoms. Along with your symptoms, your family history, and whether you recently started or stopped using any medications or hair products right before your flare-up, these questions will also be asked.

What test is done to identify scalp psoriasis?

To rule out other disorders that could be causing your symptoms, such as a fungal infection of the scalp, eczema, or seborrheic dermatitis, your doctor may do a number of tests (dandruff). The tests could consist of:

  • Anaphylaxis test [4].
  • Biopsy.
  • Blood testing to find the cause of rash.
