Feet (Tinea Pedis)

Ringworm infection on the feet is known as athlete’s foot. Its appearance differs from regular ringworm patches seen on clear skin. The skin between the toes becomes red, itchy and swollen. You may experience a burning or stinging sensation between your toes if you have athlete’s foot. You’ll also notice your infected foot has a foul smell. Athlete’s foot can affect the soles and heels, but it mostly appears between the smallest toe and the one next to it [4]. The skin may turn dry and scaly, beginning between the toes before spreading to the sole and sides of the infected foot. This skin starts to peel and, in severe cases, painful blisters may form on the skin. The skin between the toes may also become white and mushy. The infection may spread to the hands as a result of constant touching.
