Ringworm Symptoms by Location

Beard (Tinea Barbae)

This happens in men who have facial hair. Infection often results from contact with animals [6] that have ringworm. It is characterized by itchy, swollen, red spots on the chin. The infection may spread from the chin to the cheeks and upper neck. Facial hair where these patches appear will fall out.

Pus-filled bumps develop around the infected area. Sometimes the infection might seem like acne or folliculitis. In bad cases, sores break open on the skin. Some men may have swollen lymph nodes and feel more tired than usual.
