Cardiac Involvement

It may be due to the presence of a sclerodermic renal crisis (when the blood pressure rises too much, the heart can fail or cause angina pectoris) or the presence of pulmonary hypertension, which causes the failure of the right side of the heart (cor pulmonale). In turn, in scleroderma, pericarditis can occur, that is, an inflammation of the pericardium (the layer that surrounds the heart) or cardiac arrhythmias can appear. [10]

No less dangerous is the damage to the kidney tissue with the development of malignant arterial hypertension and acute renal failure.
