Why Does It Affect Elderly Folks More Seriously?

Older individuals typically have lower immune systems than younger individuals, which makes it more difficult for them to fight off infections of any kind.

An older person’s immune system can be further weakened by additional variables, such as stressful life experiences and cancer treatment, in addition to the typical age-related loss in immune system strength.

Complications

For younger people, there is often little chance of long-term complications after a shingles attack. On the other hand, many older persons can experience life-threatening consequences long after the rash has cleared up, so this isn’t always the case.
