Signs and symptoms
Ocular rosacea is a type of rosacea that affects the eye. For this subtype, you may need to visit an ophthalmologist, a doctor who specializes in treating eye conditions. Some people may develop rosacea in their eyes. Your eyes may develop one or more of the following if you have ocular rosacea:
- Eyes burn or sting
- Watery or bloodshot appearance
- Feel gritty, often feels like sand in the eyes
- Eyes are very dry
- Eyes sensitive to light
- Eyes itch
- Cyst on the eyelid
- Visible broken blood vessels on an eyelid
- You may not be able see properly
