  • Try an over-the-counter (OTC) medication to relieve symptoms like itching, redness, swelling, and pain.
  • Take antihistamine medicine, like the non-drowsy loratadine (Claritin) or diphenhydramine (Benadryl) which might make you sleepy. These medicines may help relieve itching, redness, and swelling.

Ticks are disease-causing vectors with minor to severe symptoms that may have debilitating effects on the body but if treated properly, these symptoms will surely go away. There are safe methods and effective remedies to remove ticks and take care of tick bites. There is hardly any need for hospitalization and symptoms go away within days of appropriate treatment and care.
