13 Symptoms of Hyperthyroidism

Fatigue

Since hyperthyroidism increases body metabolism, many individuals initially have a lot of energy. However, as hyperthyroidism progresses, the body is subjected to breaking down, so getting tired is very common. It might create the feeling that a person can’t get through a day without a nap, or you sleep more than you do but still feel completely exhausted. You may not have the energy to do yoga or exercise, or may fall asleep during the day or very quickly at night and still find it hard to get up in the morning.

Irritability

Extreme irritability and feelings of frustration or anger, often over seemingly small matters for an extended period, can indicate an overactive thyroid. Lack of sleep from this condition can also make you irritable.

Restless leg syndrome

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) may be a symptom of hyperthyroidism. [4] People with this symptom feel uncomfortable or unpleasant sensations in their legs while the body is at rest. In most cases, RLS symptoms often occur in the evening or around sleep at night. RLS is so disruptive, and this disorderliness can lead to significant sleep loss and daytime impairments.
