When to Visit a Doctor

For young children, bedwetting is common, although they usually outgrow it. The use of at-home remedies and teaching might be sufficient to stop bedwetting.
People should consult their doctor if they are worried about a child’s health or if the child:
- is over the age of seven
- if after six months of not doing so, they started to wet the bed once more
- demonstrates additional signs that can point to a UTI or underlying illness
- is using the restroom during the day
- is impacted psychologically by bedwetting
Bedwetting in adults should be addressed with a visit to the doctor because it may be a sign of a serious medical issue.
The doctor will conduct a physical examination, record a thorough medical history, and evaluate the patient’s symptoms.
