Baby Heat Rash: Types, Duration, Treatment & More

Get the right sleepwear

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission it is most recommended that the children’s pajamas (from size 9 months to 14) should fit snugly against the skin.

The potential of major burn injuries has led the American Academy of Pediatrics to advise the use of flame-retardant sleepwear and clothes.

Consider these suggestions when buying sleepwear.

One natural material that enables your child’s body to expel heat and perspiration is cotton. Some cotton products can have a particular chemical pretreatment to make them flame resistant.

Layer their clothing

Dress your child in clothing made of breathable, moisture-wicking fabric that enables sweat to evaporate from the skin’s surface if you’re going outside to play in cold weather.

Avoid building up layers too quickly. Layers can hold onto body heat and perspiration when children romp vigorously. It is best to dress your child about as warmly as you would in the same conditions.
