Preventing Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

The hand, foot, and mouth disease viruses are very contagious. Before the patient even realizes they are ill, the illness frequently spreads. By following these appropriate hygiene practises, you can reduce or stop the spread of the disease:

  • Sneeze or cough into your elbow.
  • Clean high-touch objects like toys, counters, and doorknobs.
  • Never share towels, blankets, clothing, drinks, or dining utensils.
  • Keep healthy kids away from those who have the infection.
  • All of your child’s dirty clothes, bedding, and other belongings should be washed.
  • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.
