Side Effects

This procedure has a low risk of causing side effects. Most people who undergo this procedure end up having little to no skin irritation. Few people experience short-term side effects and these symptoms include;

Soreness
Burning or tingling sensation, usually about 48 hours after the procedure
Redness of the skin
Swollen skin, as a result of the scraping
Patchy skin pigment, [3] usually found in the area where you had the procedure. It may decrease and eventually disappear over time
Few whiteheads may appear on your face

On rare occasions, patients may develop a scar on the face and the doctor is required to treat the scar tissue. If you notice a scar on your face after undergoing this treatment, pay a visit to your doctor immediately.

Note that if you have a highly reactive and sensitive skin, you should avoid dermaplaning because it may irritate your skin.
