Side Effects

This procedure has a low risk of causing side effects. Most people who undergo this procedure end up having little to no skin irritation. Few people experience short-term side effects and these symptoms include;
- Soreness
- Burning or tingling sensation, usually about 48 hours after the procedure
- Redness of the skin
- Swollen skin, as a result of the scraping
- Patchy skin pigment, [3] usually found in the area where you had the procedure. It may decrease and eventually disappear over time
- Few whiteheads may appear on your face
On rare occasions, patients may develop a scar on the face and the doctor is required to treat the scar tissue. If you notice a scar on your face after undergoing this treatment, pay a visit to your doctor immediately.
Note that if you have a highly reactive and sensitive skin, you should avoid dermaplaning because it may irritate your skin.
