Drug interactions

Using other topical acne drugs with tretinoin can lead to interactions, such as skin irritation. These interactions can also worsen side effects like a burning feeling on your skin.
You should only use topical acne drugs as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use other topical skin medications, like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and other products that contain sulfur when using tretinoin. Doctors also advise people to avoid using brands that desiccate the skin, like cleansers containing alcohol and astringents.
Overdose
According to experts, overdosing on OTC tretinoin rarely happens. They mostly occur in prescription-strength forms of the drug like Retin-A [6].
The most common symptoms of an overdose are loss of consciousness or breathing difficulties.
