Vegetables and fruits

Fruits and vegetables are low in sodium. Some of them include:

  • Fresh vegetables like carrots, spinach, and broccoli.
  • Fresh fruits such as oranges, watermelons, grapes, bananas, and apples.
  • Vegetable juice that is low sodium.
  • Canned, packaged, or frozen dried fruits with no extra sugar. Make sure you rinse canned vegetables to get some of the sodium off them.
  • Low sodium canned vegetables or with no salt added.

Instead of salt, use the following seasonings to add flavor to your food.
