Spinach is rich in fiber, which lowers cholesterol levels and promotes heart health. Potassium, magnesium, and folate present in this leafy green help reduce high blood pressure [3], which causes hypertension, strokes and heart attacks. Excess fats clog the arteries and cause it to thicken, leading to heart problems but, lutein in spinach prevents this from happening.
