Canned salmon and sardines contain high amounts of calcium due to the presence of edible bones. In 85 grams of canned salmon, 21% of the RDI is present. Also, 35% of the RDI is present in 92 grams of sardines. Additionally, sardines and canned salmon contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and protein, significant for the brain, skin, and heart. Please note that seafood may have some levels of mercury. Fortunately, there are low levels of mercury in the smaller ones.
