Severe side effects
Serious side effects of Ozempic are not as common as mild effects. You should contact your doctor immediately if you notice any serious side effects of Ozempic. Call your local emergency number or 911 if you experience any severe side effects.
Some severe side effects of Ozempic are:

- Pancreatitis (inflammation in your pancreas) [3]
- Risk of thyroid cancer or thyroid tumor
- Diabetic retinopathy (damage to your eyes that’s caused by diabetes) [4]
- Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) [5]
- Allergic reaction
- Gallbladder disease (which can include gallstones and inflammation of your gallbladder) [6]
