Dosage
Rybelsus comes in the form of tablets and they are taken orally. You should take the drug as prescribed by your doctor or follow the prescription label on the drug’s pack. The drug is to be taken once every day. You must take the drug for at least 30 minutes before your first meal every day, with a little amount of water. Swallow the drug instead of chewing or breaking it.
You start the drug with a low weight dosage of 3mg for the first 30 days to initiate treatment. After 30 days, you increase the dosage to 7mg each day for the next 30 days, which is useful for glycemic control. Your doctor might increase the dose to 14mg daily depending on the progress of diabetes and if more glycemic control is needed.
Try not to miss your dose. If you miss your dose, leave it and continue with the next one to prevent an overdose. In case of overdose, reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
