Dosage
- First dose: 0.6 mg subcutaneously once a day for 1 week; this dose is done to reduce gastrointestinal symptoms and is not an effective dose for glycemic control
- Maintenance dose: use 1.2 mg subcutaneously once a day; if there are no signs of improvement, it can be increased to 1.8mg once a day
- Maximum dose: 1.8 mg once a day
If you skip a dose, use the next dose. Do not take extra drugs to make up the skipped dose. Seek emergency medical attention if you overdose. Never share an injection pen, cartridge, or syringe with another person, even if the needle has been changed. Sharing these devices makes you susceptible to infections or disease to pass from one person to another.
