Can ADHD Cause Tics? 

Non-Stimulant Drugs and the Chance with Tic

The FDA has approved three non-stimulant drugs to treat ADHD in children, they include:

  • Clonidine (Kapvay)
  • Guanfacine (Intuniv)
  • Atomoxetine (Strattera)

Although a few case studies revealed atomoxetine may have induced tics in certain kids. Research supports the use of these medications to safely manage tics and ADHD symptoms in kids.
