Biologics
Your health care provider may recommend biologics if you have severe asthma symptoms that cannot be controlled easily by medications. Biologics are known to decrease inflammation by targeting specific cells or immune system antibodies. You can take them with asthma drugs if you have more-severe forms of asthma to control your symptoms. Your doctor will do bloodwork to decide which biologic will work best for you. Some Biologics are administered as a shot (injection), while some are given through a vein (intravenously).
