10 Symptoms of High-Functioning Autism

Dislike of Change

A major symptom of high-functioning autism is an obvious dislike of change. An individual might eat the same food every day for breakfast, and they may eat it in the same quantity, on the same plate, and in the same place. Any alteration or change in the routine could lead to frustration in the individual. For example, if the usual flavor of cake has run out, and a different flavor has been bought instead, the person with high-functioning autism may have an episode of anger or frustration. If someone has used their preferred dish, they may have a similar outburst of volatility.
