What Are the Causes of Necrotizing Fasciitis?
Necrotizing fasciitis is caused by bacteria infection. You can only develop this condition if the bacteria is in your body. This usually occurs when the skin is injured. For instance, the bacteria can ingest the body via a cu, surgical wound, or scrape. The injury doesn’t have to be big for bacteria to infest the skin. Even a needle can cause injuries large enough for the bacteria to infest.
Necrotizing fasciitis may occur due to different types of bacteria. The most common bacteria that causes this condition is group A streptococcus. Other bacteria that can cause this infection include:

- Klebsiella
- Aeromonas hydrophila
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Clostridium
