Hernias occur when body organs extend beyond the muscles and tissues that keep them contained. The most common hernias occur within the chest, abdomen, and chest areas. When hernias are discovered, it is important that it is treated as soon as diagnosed to prevent further complications.
Hernias are caused by weak muscles  which may have been present from birth or muscles that have become weak due to age and straining. Strains on the muscles can occur because of obesity , during pregnancy, physical exertion, deep coughs, and tight bowel movements due to constipation.
