Heat or Cold Therapy

Cold therapy is done with the help of an ice block. You can also carry out heat therapy with a heat pack or hot-water bottle. These therapies are helpful only for mild injuries in the shoulder; the ice block is placed on your shoulder for at least twenty minutes; you can also put frozen peas in a bag and put in a damp towel to protect the skin from external force. If muscles feel tense or sore when touched, heat packs can be used. Supermarkets, chemists and sports shops sell heat pads that can be used more than once; you could also use a wheat bag that has been microwaved, put in a dry towel and placed on the affected shoulder for at least twenty minutes.
