Internal Bleeding: Causes, Treatment, and Complications

What are the Signs and Symptoms of Internal Bleeding?

Internal bleeding mostly occurs as a sign of an injury, illness, or disease. It is always due to an underlying condition. Treatment would be difficult to administer if you or your doctor do not understand the underlying reason. Your doctor would want to understand what is bleeding, why it is bleeding, and what diseases could be responsible for the bleeding. It would be impossible to administer treatment without finding out answers to these questions.

Symptoms of internal bleeding usually depend on the affected part of the body.

Internal bleeding in your head is often accompanied by the following symptoms:

  • Weakness on one side of your body
  • Numbness on only one side of your body
  • Tingling in your feet and hands

  • Swallowing or chewing problems
  • Deteriorated hearing or vision
  • Lack of eye focus, coordination, and balance
  • Problems with speaking and understanding speech
  • Writing problems
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Reduced overall alertness, such as increase in stupor, lethargy, or sleepiness.
