Pain under the right rib cage may occur due to various medical conditions such as hepatitis, kidney stones, and gallstones. The region under the right rib is located in the right upper quadrant. Pain in this region often occurs due to problems in organs around this area. Organs located in this region include; gallbladder, pancreas, right kidney, large and small intestine, and parts of your liver. Pain beneath the right rib cage may be a sign of certain health conditions and may require urgent medical attention
