Liver conditions are also known to cause pain under the right rib cage. For example, studies show that conditions like liver cancer, liver abscess [2], or hepatitis [3] may increase your chances of experiencing pain in the region. Asides from pain, people with liver conditions may also experience the following symptoms:
- Abdominal tenderness
- Nausea or vomiting
- Unexplained weight loss
- Darkened urine
- Fever
- Yellowish skin (jaundice)
- Fatigue [4]
