Symptoms of SI Joint Dysfunction and Risk Factors

SI joint dysfunction also known as sacroiliitis can happen to anyone. Common symptoms of the condo dysfunction include pain that:

  • pain in the lower back
  • pain in the buttocks, hips, and pelvis
  • pain in the groin
  • numbness
  • weakness
  • pain limited to just one of the SI joints
  • increased pain when standing up from a sitting position
  • stiffness or a burning sensation in the pelvis
  • pain radiating down into the thighs and upper legs
  • feeling like your legs may buckle and not support your body

As people aging, sacroiliac joint illness becomes increasingly prevalent. For instance, injury to the pelvic or sacroiliac joints may trigger it. Sacroiliac joint tension may increase if the spine is fused all the way to the sacrum.
