Wheezing and Shortness of Breath
Shortness of breath [5], also called dyspnea, is a condition that makes it hard to get enough air into your lungs. When your body cannot get enough oxygen in one breath, it may cause you to draw breaths in rapid succession. Sometimes you’re already drawing the next breath even when you haven’t finished the last one. Shortness of breath causes tightness in the chest and can result in wheezing.
Reactions to some allergens can make a person feel short of breath. In some cases, this is mild and will pass within a short time. Sometimes this may be a sign of anaphylactic shock and should be treated as a medical emergency.
Itchy, Watery, Red Eyes
Exposure to some allergies can cause the eyes to become teary and itchy. This condition is called conjunctivitis and is not infectious if caused by allergies. It often resolves on its own within a short period.
Stomach Upset, Vomiting or Diarrhea
Certain types of foods trigger allergic reactions that upset the stomach in some people. It can result in severe tummy pain and diarrhea. The body may also try to get rid of the food by vomiting it.
