Endometrial Ablation

Endometrial ablation is a procedure that may be effective in treating uterine fibroids. It is a type of minor surgical proxy that destroys the entire lining of the uterus, known as the endometrium. The procedure is known to take care of heavy bleeding. However, it is important to note that the procedure does not work for all cases of uterine fibroids.
According to experts, endometrial ablation does not treat all types of fibroid. It only treats the ones that are in the interior part of the uterus. The procedure is commonly done on an outpatient basis, even when in your healthcare provider’s office. Your doctor will insert an instrumental through your vagina and into the uterus. The instrument uses heat, electric currents, or microwave energy to destroy the fibroids and uterine tissue.
Studies show that most women who undergo endometrial ablation may be unable to get pregnant after the procedure. If you get pregnant after undergoing the procedure, you are more likely to have miscarriage or other problems.
