Breast cancer
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer and it results from formation of cancerous cells in the breast. It results when the cells in the breast grow and divide in an uncontrollable manner, therefore forming a mass of tissue called tumor. There are different types of breast cancer and they can also be in different stages. It can affect both men and women, but it is predominantly found in females. Adults are most affected by this medical condition, but in rare situations can also be found in children.
The lumps found in children are harmless and irrelevant tumors that are not dangerous and do not have symptoms. These small tumors are not cancerous but they are known as fibroadenomas. The growth of fibroadenomas needs to be monitored, in order for it not to become cancerous. These benign tumors can be removed by radiation therapy and surgery, if necessary.
