Types of breast cancer
This medical condition is mostly common among women and there are different types, which are:
- Inflammatory breast cancer:this cancer always seems like an infection and it is caused by obstructive cancer cells in the lymph vessels. It causes swelling, redness and pitting of the mammary gland.
- Infiltrating (invasive) ductal carcinoma: this is the most common type of breast cancer. The cancer beginsin the milk duct and spreads to all the tissue in the breast.
- Lobular carcinoma in situ: this is not a true cancer but a pointer that there is a danger of potential cancer. This results in abnormalcells in the lobules of your breast.it is best to go for a clinical checkup when the abnormality is noticed.
- Ductal carcinoma in situ: this is also known as stage 0 cancer. This is precancerous because the cancer cells havenot gotten to the milk ducts. Prompt care is necessary for this condition.
- Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC): This is termed as the most difficult type of breast cancer to treat because three of the markers associated with other types of cancer are not found in it. Therefore, it makes diagnosis and treatment difficult.
- Paget’s disease of the breast.
- Infiltrating (invasive) lobular carcinoma.[1]
