Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy involves the use of anticancer drugs to kill cancer cells. It is normally used to treat cancer cells that were not cleared out by surgery. It may also be used before surgery to reduce the size of a large tumor.
A combination of about two to three cytotoxic drugs is normally used to treat cancer cells. [6] Doctors will determine which combination is suitable for you based on the type and stage of breast cancer you have. The drugs are typically administered intravenously, but sometimes you may be given tablets to use at home.
