Cervical Cancer: Symptoms and Signs

Blood in the urine

Blood in the urine, also called hematuria, is a symptom of many health problems. Many of them are unrelated to the cervix, but they should be attended to with urgency. A large percentage of people with cervical cancer report bloody urine as part of their symptoms [4]. The blood may or may not noticeably tint the color of their urine and may only be observable under a microscope.

It is usually never clear if the blood in a woman’s urine is the result of cervical cancer or other underlying health conditions from mere observation. This is why further testing is important to pinpoint the cause. If it is caused by cervical cancer, doctors will assess how far it has advanced and decide on an appropriate treatment option.
