Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)

Cognitive-behavioral therapy helps with negative thought patterns. A mental health professional can teach you CBT techniques to help you live with issues surrounding stress, anxiety, self-image, and other related issues. All of these may have negative effects on intimacy.
Group supports
People feel comfortable knowing they are not alone in navigating issues linked to sex and intimacy after ovarian cancer.
You can join support groups online or in your community. Studies have shown that 98 percent of people with ovarian cancer who engaged in group support daily saw improvements.
There is a practice of nonjudgmental curiosity about thoughts and feelings in these group sessions that helps the participants feel relief when sharing their stories.
