While not all studies agree on the benefits of exercise to constipated patients, many agree that it does help. One study found that exercise reduced symptoms associated with constipation even though it did not increase the frequency of bowel movements.

There are several exercises you can do to ease constipation. It is best to start with mild exercises like regular long walks. If your body agrees with it, then you may add others like jogging or cycling.
