Avoid Delaying Bowel Movements

Constipation can quickly become a cycle. Because bowel movements when you are constipated can be painful, you may feel reluctant to use the toilet the next time.
Delaying bowel movements does not help improve symptoms in any way. Instead, it increases the likelihood that your next bowel movement will be as difficult, if not more as the last. It gives your body enough time to reabsorb water from the stool in your intestines.
Do not delay bowel movements, whether you are constipated or not. This way, you can reduce the risk of hard stool forming in your bowels.
